I’m just wondering if taking a 60mg dose of codeine each night is addictive? I’m only taking codeine occasionally at other times if I’m in agony with my other health problems. I’ve noticed that it helps my RLS calm immensely when taken with or a low dose of pramiprexole. I also find a hot way bottle on my legs helps. My iron levels are very low and I’m on the NHS waiting list for a transfusion. I’m hoping that once my iron levels are okay I’ll be able to stop the codeine but I’m worried about addiction in the meantime.

codeine
Addiction, dependence, inappropriate use or outright abuse.
Take your pick.
What type of personality are you?
Does that dose of codeine give you a high or just reach the pain?
Can you do with a lower dose? Does that suggestion terrify you?
So many things to take into account.!
I'd be more concerned with taking Pramipexol and getting dependent on that.
Good luck whichever way you go.
Unless you have an addictive personality, the low doses prescribed for RLS and 60 mg of codeine is a low dose as the usual effective dose is 60 to 180 mg per the Mayo Clinic Algorithm on RLS, are not addictive so you don't need to worry about that.
I have been taking 60/90mg of Dihydrocodeine on alternate nights for 9 Months or more with no problems or thoughts of addiction, alternate nights if needed Kratom or very very occasionally a sliver of Ropinerole. The Codeine is for RLS/PLMD not pain.
