Success with clonidine as a supplementary medication

Sharing some recent success.

I have taken pregabalin 300mg for a number of years but have also supplemented it with a very small dose of clonazepam (between 0.125 and 0.5m)

I started weaning off clonazepam approx 3 months ago because it's not desirable to take benzodiazepines long term (i'm weaning off super slowly).

However i found that as i cut down on clonazepam, the pregabalin wasn't cutting it in terms of refreshing sleep.

So, I recently added in a small dose of clonidine (approx 25mcg) and find this helps me get to sleep faster. I also seem to be having more restorative sleep.

This may be helpful information for those of you who need help with sleep initiation or more depth of sleep than your current regime provides.

That's great ! It also helps RLS so you may want to try reducing the pregabalin by 25 mg.

Pregabalin is actually superior in supressing periodic limb movements. There's no strong evidence for clonidine benefiting PLMD.

That's true. Didn't realize you had PLMD.
