If the itch started before you took pregabalin that is a side effect of RLS. If it started after you started pregabalin, then it is a side effect of pregabalin and you need to come off it. Let us know which it is. If it started before you took the pregabalin, then I suggest clarinex which is prescription or OTC allegra, claritin or zyrtec

Just in the past 3 months I started having the itch and sometimes cannot stop myself from scratching my legs until they bleed. Sometimes the inner side of my arms itch but not as bad as my legs and I can usually control my urge to scratch my arms by putting on long sleeves. I have had RLS most of my 74 years but it did not cause me any problems until about 5 years ago. Neurologist put me on 5 mg Requip (because I had not slept in a week) but did not mention augmentation. Once I found this site, I realized how much neither of us knew. I have been able to reduce my Requip to 1 mg late afternoon daily but still have some difficult days and nights. It becomes complicated because what works for one person will actually trigger RLS in others. Currently I am using several OTC meds that are giving me enough relief to get about 3 hours of sleep most nights but who knows how long it will last or what else will develop, like the itch. I am so glad you posted. I believe my itch is either a symptom of RLS or a withdrawal reaction to cutting back my Requip, maybe some of both. I check this site regularly whether or not I post anything. I always learn something and often find suggestions that are worth trying. Thank you for sharing.

Are you taking an opioid? Itching is a common side effect.

I've not yet tried Pregalbin. Iron supplements are making my RLS manageable most of the time these days. Wish you the best.
