Can anyone who has successfully used clonodine share how long it took to work? I'm taking it morning and night .1mg. Thanks.

Clonodine success?
My wife took it once, got a headache ("low blood pressure") and would not take it again...
I take .2mg clonidine at night for anxiety/sleep. I dont take it for RLS but it has not caused me any problems in that area.
Just wondering why the morning dose Wantokporo, as I'm assuming you're taking it for PLMD (ie a night time occurrence).
To help with sleep onset, it should work from day one. For PLMD it may need to build up. I have read that to be effective for RLS, clonidine needs to be prescribed at higher doses than typically prescribed.
"Although some symptoms may improve within days of starting clonidine, it may take several weeks before you notice the full benefits of the medication.
Do not stop taking the medicine without talking to your prescriber. Gradual withdrawal is needed if the drug is be to stopped."
At day 9 of .1mg x 2 day, clonodine still wakes me up, instead of putting me to sleep, and disrupts sleep, together with the PLMD which it has not yet helped. Do you by any chance have where you found that info on higher doses? My wonderful doc doesn't want to go higher than where we are, and if that is the case, I will stop this experiment with clonodine. Thanks much.

There are a number of articles on clonidine and RLS/PLMD. If you search via Google Scholar you tend to get better results.
Thanks a lot for the links. I am too exhausted to look at anything at the moment. Doc says go off clonodine, so here come the BP spikes.
In Australia Clonidine comes as 0.1 and 0.15mg. For RLS they used around 0.5mg. I have seen kids with ADHD and Tourettes's taking 0.1 3 x /day
