Keppra increases

Started on 250mg. keppra tonight after failing clonodine quickly (leg cramps and increased blood pressure did in that one). 250mg isn't enough, at least tonight, and I am wondering how quickly I should increase. Doc says I can go up to 750mg. and I have a terrible time with tolerating medicines. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Levetiracetam (Keppra and other brand names) "usual dose to treat epilepsy in adults and older children (aged 12 years and over) is 250mg to 3,000mg a day, taken as 1 or 2 doses, but the exact dose may depend on your weight". So 750mg doesn't sound excessive, but your doctors assessment and your response to it is key.

Good luck

Further to this, there have been posts suggesting that levetiracetam (Keppra) can help in relieving RLS symptoms, but of course results may vary (and it's always possible that benefits or otherwise may vary with size of dose)
