Hi everyone. Does anyone suffer with poor spacial awareness? I am on 4mg of ropinorole and 250mg pregabalin and wondered if I may be having side effects, as I am constantly walking into door frames and table corners.
Spacial awareness.: Hi everyone. Does... - Restless Legs Syn...
Spacial awareness.
I only take 1mg of Ropinerole but within 10 or 15 minutes my balance is affected and I bump into things. Perhaps it is space awareness.
Yes. When I started on pregabalin I used to bump into and hit my head in things.
Hi there it's the gabbas that do that make you all wobbly when you walk you can walk and will probably keep going to one side as if you have had a couple of drinks
Hi Restless, could that just be cos you're tired out all the time? I share your concern tho, I have poor balance anyway but the RLS probably doesn't help. Alison x
restless1973 I am also on a high dose of ropinirole and gabapentin. I have become more clumsy and think slower than I once did. I attribute it to that and the fact I am nearing 80 yrs old. I was once a skilled carpenter, mechanic and a really skilled debater and writer. I spoke to groups and took their questions with delight. I now shy away from the need to debate because I've come to doubt that I would recall all the names and facts quickly enough to not look stupid. It is a trade off. I cannot stand the feeling of RLS plus the pain of fibromylga. Even typing which was a reflex action has become a hunt and peck affair to keep the paragraphs I write half was on point. Good luck with the future!

Thank you for your replies. Glad I am not on my own with this damn thing. I am seeing my neurologist next month, and I will be able to put this to him.
Thank you again.
I am on a dopamine agonists and Pregablin and don't have any problems with spacial awareness xx
Hadn't thought about it, but I can't park straight to save myself. I take 2 mg. ropinorole in the morning and again at night. I frequently find my car so crooked that I have to get back in to try to make it less embarrassing one or two times.
I suffer considerabley with walking into everything mostly when I have not slept for days due to RLS I also drop things like hot drinks any thing it seems like I am falling asleep for a spit second and walking up and down for hours loose all sense of direction
That is exactly how I often feel.
These drugs all have very unpleasant side effects my cardiologist finally gave me permission to once again take codeine which is the only thing ever to work for me.I promptly beetles down to my GP looking forward to getting all the stuff I was taking off the side effects special problems feeling wobbly vision disturbed oedematous 27lbs weight gain etc all of which I complained about to be told he would not prescribe it for me as he was afraid I might have another heart attack.I was very disappointed but as he is a very sympathetic physician and has prescribed it before. I trundled home to try and endure the simply horrible attack I had all night. Come to think of it could it have been precipitated by this?Incidentally the magnesium seemed to make it worse.
