Is anyone using Tapentadol to control their RLS .I have suffered with severe Restless legs syndrome for 52 years. The only medication that gives me relief now is opioid medication.
Has anyone tried Tapentadol. It comes in slow release and immediate release. And starts at 50mg tablets.
I am seeing a sleep specialist next week and I am going to speak to him about trying it.

Hi, funny you ask this question as my daughter who is a nurse asked me the same the other day…….does tapentadol help rls?
I replied “ I don’t know” She said all the drs at the hospital are now prescribing it over other opioids as safer. (For other conditions) I will be watching replies to your question.
Hi Jules, can't answer the Tapentadol question but am curious as to why you're not looking to go back on Temgesic as I thought that was working for you?
I am back on Temgesic now after unsuccessfully trying Gabapentin. My new doctor was not keen to prescribe Temgesic. I saw my sleep specialist, Dr Richard Warren in Perth Western Australia, and he is now writing Temgesic prescriptions for me. I think that after 12 years on Sifrol at very high dosages, only an opioid medication will calm my RLS.
