I’ve just been diagnosed with diverticulitis so now have a course of antibiotics to deal with it. I’ve also been prescribed with co-codamol for the pain. I don’t want to risk having what Tramadol has done to my RLS so was wondering if there are any known issues for people with RLS if they take co-codamol?
Thanks.

Thanks, that’s a relief. Tramadol has really messed with my RLS and caused it to spread, so I was worried another opioid might do similar. Yes, it might improve it but sometimes it can then go haywire when you stop taking them Then again, I won’t be on this one constantly for 3 years.
Yes as with all opiates if you stop taking them your legs won't like it although Codeine isn't as strong as Tramadol. Codeine I find is the worst for causing constipation x
Hi, about once a month my RLS breaks out a bit and I actually use cocodamol for relief and sleep during the night. I also find co-codamol very useful and take it before occasions on which I know I am going to be forced to sit for a long time such as international flights and cinema outings. It really does give me a sense of calm at these times.
I couldn't live without it as it relieves my RLS so I get a good night's sleep with it . This condition should be classed as a disability it is a debilitating disease . I've not commented for a.bit as I thought I'd be boring everyone with my journey it is still ongoing it's relentless . Hope you get sum relief 😊
You’d never be boring people as we’re all on the same journey even if we don’t experience it in quite the same way. I’m glad co-codamol helps you. Tramadol does the same thing but it’s made my RLS worse, even after 3? Years of not taking it and I don’t want to risk co-codamol doing the same thing when I stop taking that too
I tried Tramadol for a few months hoping that it would be my life-saver. Far from it! At the beginning it did seem to work but very soon not only was my RLS worse but it also gave me insomnia. I now take 5ml of OxyNorm at night and this, on most nights, gives me about 2 good hours of sleep. My Dr. Recommended two paracetamols at the same time.
I to have been prescribed co-codamol and have been having some sleep. I am now decreasing ropinirol by .5mg per month which leaves only another .50mg to go. I am hoping it works.
