Thanks in no small part to the advice and support of folk in this group, and the agreement of my GP (who has been amazing in my RLS/PLMD journey), I have begun to try coming of Pram. Also reducing my antidepressants. To help others, I plan to post my experience on here. Watch this space!

Wishing you strength. It's tough but many of us have done it. The intensity of the RLS will reduce and you'll be glad you got off it.Keep us updated.

By the way, I used cannabis when the withdrawal was really, really bad and it gave me 30 mins of desperately needed sleep after 4 days of zero rest.

Yes, keep us updated. Which med are you weaning off first? Or, are you going for them both at the same time?

Hiya. I’d already started reducing the antidepressants from about a month ago so I’m now starting to reduce the Pram. as well.

That is great !!! Take it slowly - .125 mg every 2 weeks is what is usually recommended. You may need to reduce more slowly or with a smaller amount. Wait until the increased symptoms from each reduction has settled before going to the next one. You will suffer and may need a low dose opioid temporarily to help out with the symptoms especially as you near the end.

I just got off Mirapex. I slowly reduced it over 11 months. I started at .5 mg. So far I have had no problems coming off it. After reading the advice of people on this site, I did it extremely slowly! Good luck to you!

That is great. Have you had your ferritin tested?

Yes Sue, I have. My ferritin is 263, binding 269, uncle 201, iron 68, sat 25. I try to follow all your excellent advice.

Good luck to you Theonlypetied! It most likely will be very difficult and at times you may feel like giving up. You CAN do this, just do it slowly! At some point you may have to increase it and that is okay. Listen to what your body tells you. Everyone here is available for support. Keep us posted.

Good luck and yes please do post. I am on the same journey. I have now completely cut out sertraline.

Plus I have cut out 3 x half tablets. I won’t say it is easy, some days are really tough, but this forum is amazing for support. It has helped to read as much as possible about restless legs and the effects of reducing Pramipexole so I am prepared for what could happen.

I take gentle iron of the other night. I also suck a CBD gummy bear at bedtime. I haven’t tried cannabis yet but I will if things get tough. I also take two ibuprofen at bedtime and find that helps.
