RLS during heatwave
Is your RLS only bad all night in the heat or is it always bad? If so, you need to consider why. If you're on Rotigitone ( and pregabalin) it should completely control RLS. If not, it's likely to be augmentation causing the bad nights.Link attached.

Thank you for that. I read the youtube link and another after that, and think I am on the best stuff that is around right now. It's just the heatwave.... And I thank you sincerely for your trouble in replying I don't think it is augmentation.... yet... Grrr.
My RLS, which is generally controlled by Gabapentin, is definitely kicking up during this heat wave.
Dr Buchfuhrer says that if it gets worse during heat, you could try temporarily taking more gabapentin.
Thank you Sue
I don't find the heat affects my symptoms. And i live in an incredibly hot city.
Do you have air conditioning in your house/bedroom? In England most of us don’t, and that means during heat waves we’re trying to sleep in very hot bedrooms at night. That’s the issue for me. Or, perhaps heat is just not a trigger for you at all, which is great.
aaarrgh no air con and no likelihood. I do thank you for reply and interest.Do you think, that if we went to France or somewhere hot at night, the air con would negate the onslaught of RLS at night, as I would love to go see nephew in his house in Grasse. Which is hot. But he has air con.
Yes but only really turn it on when it's consistently over 35 degrees Celsius. Mind you, I'm probably acclimatised to the heat. All the best in managing the heatwave. ..A cold shower immediately before bed could help...or a couple of ice packs in the sheets.
Yep! I had a really bad night last night - up for several hours, pacing up and down, etc. As 900mg gabapentin has been working pretty well for me for a while now, I’m sure it’s the heat (and probably the ice cream I had during the afternoon 😩). Fortunately heatwaves in the UK rarely last for long…
