Just a follow up from yesterday’s conversation. I did take two Tramadol & although RL started (both in arms & legs) it gradually began to subside and I slept. Praise be!! Very many thanks to everyone who took the trouble to reply to me. X

Yippee!!
Great to hear that 👍
Hi, I just wanted to say to be careful with the tramadol as it's the only other medicine that can sometimes cause augmentation. Unfortunately my Dr didn't know this so he just thought my RLS was getting worse so he kept upping the dose until I was at the max of 400mg a day.
My RLS was in my entire body and 24/7. I finally saw an amazing neurologist and I've been taking methadone for over a year with fantastic results.
From what I understand tramadol doesn't augment in everyone but I'm not sure of the frequency.
I hope you continue to do well with it but just letting you know so you can keep an eye out.
Would you be able to share the name of your neurologist? Many thanks
I see Dr Oscroft at Papworth. It’s called Dr. Oscroft’s sleep clinic.
No medicine reacts or helps everyone. I know one thing tramadol helps me but that still has not given me any assurance that my legs and arms won't need to be shaken from anywhere from at least an hour to sometimes five to six hours. I am 76 and pray every night that my legs and arms won't need to be shaken. I think for the last five or so years I've maybe had a total of seven nights where no shaking was needed... If some research doctor finds a cure he/she so will truly help people. I count my blessings though for my otherwise motor and brain skills...It could be so much worse.
Good to hear. Long may it continue.x
Yep! Are you in the states? Because I'm not sure if it's the same anywhere else but I found her by googling neurologists from the teaching universities in Florida and that's how I found her. She doesn't specifically only treat RLS but she was very receptive to looking at all the information I had found about what was going on with me from Dr. Earley at Johns Hopkins. She took my information and researched it herself then treated me from there.
It has helped me but no cure. Glad it's helping you too.
I have been on 300 mgs of Tramadol for 8 years and I’ve never had augmentation. I think the key for me keeping my RLS, (which I used to get in my arms and torso) at bay is lyrica or aka Pregabalin 300 mgs a day.
