Gabapentin Doses
Ggabapentin is not well absorbed above 600 mg. You would be better off taking 600 mg at 7:00, 600 mg at 9:00 and 600 mg at 11:00. And that way you will probably find you don't need as much. After you have been on this dosing schedule for say a week and it is working, try reducing your 5:00 pm dose by 100 mg, and if that works after a few days, reduce it by another 100 mg, etc.
After many posts where things were not going well (to put it mildly) it’s great to hear that you are now getting some relief. Sue’s advice looks like a good idea.
Please be careful with the ibuprofen. I took one tablet every night before bed for a couple of years and it really helped with the RLS but it started to seriously affect my kidneys. Several doctors said later “Oh, yes, too much ibuprofen will do that to the kidneys“. Didn’t know.
I agree with Lysonic. Taking ibuprofen constantly also leaves you prone to a bad bleed from digestive system especially as we age. Just be aware.
I’ve been taking tramadol in one amount or another. Started with 50 mg and after 10 years worked my way up to 300 mg. That worked but then I moved from Florida to Wisconsin and couldn’t find a doctor to prescribe Tramadol at all. ( they are trying to get everyone off opioids, again a few spoil it for the masses). I went for three months without any and it was very bad. Finally got a doctor to give me 200 mg. That works 80% of the time but then after a year she decided to cut me back to 100 mg and I was walking he floor again. Then I got a different doctor who agreed to give me 100 mg of Tramadol and 1 mg of pramipexole and for the last six months it’s been all good. Just hope it keeps working. I’ve had RLS for 25 years and tried many things but this combination has been the best for me.
