I am on 1200mg gabapentin, 1 mg clonazepam and now have started .25 of pramipexole. Does the nausea and headache get better? I am fighting throwing up constantly but it has worked so well for my RLS.

I was at my Nurse Practioner yesterday and questioned whether I should still take it This was my first post CoVid appointment in 1 and a half years. My prescription was up for renewal. One reads such horror stories on the internet about gabapentin. It seems to be the only medication that works for RLS. ( for me)but I haven't tried a lot of medications. I find it is very effective but I do "pay" for it when I take it. I feel a little "off" the next day but quickly rebound as the day wears on. Manerva seems to have such amazing advice on meds and treatments; he could advise you better. I do love to read his posts. The issue is that people have to withdraw from dopamine agonists, eventually. I think. There is just this fuzzy feeling one gets the next day. It is not like a hangover. It is just a depressed, sluggish feeling that I hate. When I do not take it, I do not sleep. So you have to make the choice. Blu34. My NP said it is one of the safer drugs for RLS.

Hi Blu ,I take and have been taking for a long time clonazapan. pramipexel, and Tramadol I find this works ( touch wood ) well ,try taking a half of one or two and if that still works on your RSL stay using that until you start to feel twitchy again then up your dose on one until you settle again ,just work your meds around a bit that’s what I’ve been doing for quite a few years now ,hope this helps

My post was made long ago, and have never revisited that website. Apart from RLS I've never had your symptoms nor took other meds than 2mg Clonazepam since around 1995 when first dianosed. The problem is Clon is very addictive and builds up to 6mg residue. Took me 4 mths to slowly come off, helped by Amitriptyline. For last few years occasional bouts of RLS are tolerated helped by melatonin (2mg Circadin). When bad I take 0.5mg Clon 2x /month max to prevent addictive effects.

At 81 years thats All I take - too many drugs damages your immune system.
