Hello, I have been on Pramipexole for 12 years but it has now augmented. It has taken me a while to come off it but with the help of codeine, I have succeeded. The doc has now given me Ropinrole which I have started to take slowly with .25 mg tablets now increased to 4 per night. However I have started to experience nausea. Is this likely to continue or is it something that will wear off. As yet I am still jumping during the day but have had good sleep the last few nights.

Ropinrole
Ropinerol is another dopamine agonist (DA). You will augment very rapidly with this.
Please read about Augmentation.- probably linked on this page somewhere.
You need to get off it as soon as possible.
Gabapentin or Lyrica are possible alternatives, if a direct line to opioids is not feasible.
Oh-- and change your doctor! ?🤔

Thanks. I had a feeling I might have been jumping out of the frying pan into the fire! my doc is checking up on my iron levels which I am pleased about.
I absolutely agree with Madlegs! You've gone through withdrawal from Pramipexole and will now have to go through the same thing very quickly. Why on earth would your doctor put you on Ropinirole?. If you're in the UK you should consider reporting the doctor as he must discuss the risk of augmentation with patients and that clearly hasn't happened. Most doctors know nothing about RLS so it'e essential you research it fully yourself. Read the pinned post on augmentation and also put it in the search engine so you can read how common it is and which other drugs are available.
