I'm in the same boat withdrawing from ropinirole. Started reducing to 1.5mgs 3 days ago and boy it's now kicking me in the teeth. Dreading what's going to happen when I finally take my last pill. I sympathise with you whole heartedly! This withdrawing really sucks!! I wish you well and good luck! 😊

Good luck to you too you friend.

Hi, sorry to hear you're struggling with withdrawal.

How much are you refucing it by and how often?

Are you taking amything else?

These two things can help make it easier, but it is hard, hang in there!

Hi. I posted a picture of my reduction schedule a wee while back but can’t manage to put the picture in this post !! I’m on 50mg of pregabalin to replace the pramipexole but think I may need something to help me along as well.

Hi, Yes, I recognise it now

Good that you've started pregabalin, but I believe the "starting" dose is at least 75mg, so you may need to increase that. I read an effective dose is ar least 150mg.

Typically, folks find an opiate and/or a sleeping aid hepful in the final withdrawal stage. That's if you can get a prescription.

In the meantime all the usual non-pharmaceutical measures can help.

It's well worth the effort getting off the pramipexole.

Stay strong. I had a really terrible withdrawal, but I had been on the highest dose of Ropinirole (4mg) for 15 years. I know what you are going through. If you can get hold of cannabis, it gives you 30-60 mins of vital sleep. My adult children got hold of it illegally.

Once off the dopamine agonists, the severity of the RLS lessens and disappears in the daytime. You may even find it disappears at night as well.

Good luck.

Hi. Best wishes to you and all others who are currently getting these awful withdrawal problems! I started reducing from 2 mg Ropinirole (Requip) (a dopamine agonist) a couple of weeks ago, have been on 0.5 mg for a couple of nights and am now going to try a night with nothing (if I get a night !!). Also wish I could have been given something to help through these difficult times but am relying on the help of paracetamol most of the time and co-codamol at night. It's going to be worth it in the end, isn't it friends?

Cannabis is still illegal in Britain, but having just received our letter from No 10 telling us to stay at home - I wonder if I would be more likely to be arrested for sitting on a park bench eating an ice cream at the moment, than for possessing weed?

Strange times - keep safe and sane (as much as poss) wherever you are everyone!

Prampexole is the worst drug in my thoughts. It caused me to gain a lot of weight and I gambled terrible with it. I never had a hard time going off it because the Dr prescribed Methodone. I had a hard time with Opiates they mad me severely dizzy. I now am on gabapentin and it is working on me. I take 300 mg in morning and 300 mg at night it seems to be taking away the restless legs

Hi there I've been on pramipexole for over 8 years taking 2 at night. My recent extremely bad flare up of rls and my gp wants me to increase pramipexole every 2 weeks going up to eventually 6 at night. I know they make me sleepy but im starting to hear of bad side effects can u tell me what they are?

I understand. I suffer every night too.

6 is too much. way above the maximum recommended dose.

Please read up about augmentation. It is the medication which is driving your disease now.

Also, please post your query separately. More people would be able to advise you that way.

Gabapentin was the worst drug I've ever encountered as it caused very violent bouts of vomiting which laid me low for 36 hours! I would rather stick with Pramipexole whatever the side effects and possible augmentation.
