RLS and leg pain

I’m curious. Is leg pain part of our LS? Sometimes when I wake up and the legs are beginning to rumble, I’ll try and massage them and there are tender points from the size all the way down. Also, sometimes I get extreme nerve pain in the bottom of my feet and my toes. Is this all connected or something else?

Yes it can be part & parcel of RLS. However all nerve pain and peripheral neuropathy should be checked out by your GP as it is a symptom of other things too. My nerve pain started after chemo & has played a big part in my RLS.

Hello, I think so. I get the neuropathic sensations in my hands and feet. In fact my feet sometimes appear to burn and other times my feet are very cold. My toes sometimes move alone. I will be glad when it's investigated and I get the right treatment.

I'm sorry I can't help you with your query I'm still looking for answers myself. I appreciate what you are going through though, it's so unpleasant.

The link below is to the diagnostic criteria for a diagnosis of RLS.

Your symptoms have to match ALL the criteria. If there's even one of the criteria which doesnt match your symptoms then you do NOT have RLS.

Pain can be a symptom of RLS, but it's not one of the criteria, nor are tender spots.

The principal characteristic symptom of RLS is the urge to move, which you don't mention.

The sensations and urge to move in RLS are relieved by moving, you don't mention this.

RLS is worse at night but usually worse as you're lying down to sleep and it prevents you getting to sleep.

Your symptoms sound like a spinal neuropathy, which may occur later in the night after lying down for some time.

I very much doubt you have RLS. You need to see a doctor.

Oh, I do have all of the other symptoms. I was just curious if the tenderness and pain were also symptoms. I have been diagnosed with RLS. I live in the US and my is Pamipexoil and gabapentin, which I HATE!!!

OK, in that case, you may have RLS AND neuropathy.

You may not like this, but depending on your dose of gabapentin, it might help if you increased it.

If your RLS symptoms are troublesome, despite the two medications, then as crazy as it might sound, it might be better to reduce the pramipexole.

Not what you're looking for?
