I just want to say a thank you to everyone that have helped me on this forum I didn’t realise until I read the post starting a few years ago how knowledgable people were and how little the medical profession knew about the disease

Friends and family too don’t know how severe and debilitating rls can be! I think of my poor father who I inherited the disease from who never went to a doctor to get treatment and just put up with it. In those days( he died in the nineties) people never complained and just got on with life and accepted whatever was thrown at them and always said there were people worse off them him!! Nowadays we are all more knowledgable and demand more and rightly so we shouldn’t suffer in silence

I pray that someday we will find a cure or at least better treatment thank you for listening

I know how you feel Hooch. It is such a relief to share our feelings with others who understand what we are going through. As you say, valuable support from very knowledgeable people. I am also very grateful I found this Forum at the beginning of my problems. Now I feel armed and much more confident when I discuss the way forward with doctors and consultants.

I agree with you, this forum is amazing. I remember my father never sleeping, walking around all night and then having to go to work. When he asked his doctor about restless legs, she laughed at him! She said there was no such thing.

All these years later and now my doctor is still ignorant.
