Many people here post about possible inflammatory effects of foods as a trigger for rls.

This research shows that inflammation varies widely between individuals.

May explain why everyone has a different experience with rls and triggers. 🤪

I can't see that regular tests for IL-17 wouldn't be a good idea.

That is interesting Madlegs. Anything like this gives hope that we're just not barking up the wrong tree! Pity though as it makes each person's journey so much harder without a map to follow. :)

In the 3 or four years I've been researching rls, more and more information has come to light.

Through research and posters experiences.

Individuals are experimenting all the time, with med combos, and diets and excercise and mechanical aids.

As you say , it is a challenge to find ones own path through the rls maze.

I think the biggest challenge has to be the major ignorance from a medical profession, that should be better educated and informed.

A major offensive aimed at medical schools might be a start?

One would have to wonder do they have modules for Ebola or Zika?

And before Alison whacks me over the head, I utterly recognise that GPs/ PCPs are overworked and time stretched.

Cheers.

Yes, it's certainly hard to deal with a significant health issue without the knowledgeable support of a good doctor. Mine is learning! However, he can't prescribe the big drugs like methadone if I ever need it so there's going to be a bit of a problem there perhaps.

Meanwhile, he's doing his best and does skim the articles I take him and prescribes according to the information I provide. LDN is currently on his reading list. I'm interested in trying that if this pregabalin experiment doesn't work.

I'm currently reducing the tramadol incase I'm augmenting on that. At present, having a nightmare time with legs and feeling significantly traumatised by the last few nights! In fact, I feel as if my tether is getting shorter and shorter!

i certainly have been experimenting with diet with the goal to reduce chronic inflamation. and have been having some success. I think its interesting that this article points to fat being a big inflammatory agent. particularly, its talking about animal fats. I'm wondering how that fits into the every popular Keto and paleo diets that are high in fat, but are supposed to help with inflamation. ...I guess they type of fat you consume matters.

It's certainly complicated.

I guess, all one can do is experiment.🥺
