Alprazolam Works

My sleep study was done but I don't get the results until August. BUT, since I had a reaction to all the usual treatments for RLS she put me on Alprazolam which I've been on for 17 yrs but my GP took me off because he said it's harmful for long term. Well, I'm 75 how much more damage can it do? I've not had even 1 Restless leg episode since taking 1/2 of a .25 before bed. I wake up in the exact same spot where I fell asleep and I have absolutely no side effects. I'm afraid she won't let me stay on it since the Internet is full of warnings about it. But I hate to give up something that works. It's been like heaven. I had RLS day and night before. Or are all these drug warnings just propaganda from drug companies who want you on more expensive stuff? I have no memory loss, (I'm an author) and no other side effects from it at all. I'd just like to live out my life in peace.

And tell your gp what you’ve written here. Discuss your point of view and to give her credit maybe you can strike a deal that she will monitor you closely and regularly. If you’ve done well on it for 15 years, you may do equally well the next 15 years.
