My V-A doctor in conjunction with pharmacist are reducing Mirapex from 5.0 mg daily to .75 mg daily. I am wondering exactly what to expect. I'm thinking it won't be easy or fun...HELP

Nervous About Decreasing Mirapex
You are correct. It certainly won't be fun, and even unprofessional to do it in one go.
You should taper down by the smallest increment available (0.088) each week, and be prepared to take a holiday if things get bad.
Some people can do it without any bother, others-- not so easy.
Go back to your advisers and demand a protocol to be followed.
Good luck.
My Doctor prescribed gabapentin to help with the weaning. I just had my first night of no mirapex after weaning for months. I had tried a couple weeks ago and it was a nightmare. Last night slept for 5 hrs straight!
I wish I could give you an answer. I take only 1 mg once or twice daily. Good luck. It seems drastic to drop your dose in such a way.
1mg once or twice a day of Pramipexole (Mirapex) ? wow that is waaaay too high a dose. The recommended dose as said by the RLS experts is only 0.25mgs or if in the UK 0.18mgs (both the same dosage), as the highest dose to take. I am sure you have augmented to have your dose increased so much.
Madlegs has given good advice on how you should decrease your dosage. I see you are in the USA so altho the 0.088mgs is correct, in the USA it is said as 0.125mgs both the lowest doses both mean the same dose. It usually means taking a med like Gabapentin or a low dose of a pain med like tramadol or codeine which helps with the withdrawals you will feel. So i would be asking for help from the people who are expecting you to reduce your dose. That low dose should be taken for at least a week or two before you then decrease again. Plenty on here have done the same.
