How many people here have wobbly legs during the day because of RLS? Please reply,I am doing research to help us all...

I was thinking if everyone here would ask a question that could give us some answers about RLS like...do you have wobbly legs during the day?

My legs are very wobbly some days and is this normal?

Do you have RLS at night? What medicine is helping you?

Is sugar really a problem? Is drinking wine making it worse?

Does it ever go away for a long time?

Is RLS related to veins diseases?

Some say Yoga helps a lot etc...

Do you have a lot of muscle cramps during the day?

Sometimes I need to stretch like crazy,do you have stiff fingers?

Please give me some questions and answers so we can find a solution.

I am only doing this to help,my intentions are very good and I just want to help.

So only positive feedback! (sorry if my english has any mistakes because I am from Belgium)

Thanks, Sandee

I get RLS both dAy and night. I manage night time with a combination of Propanalol and Ropinerole , I take 4 X o.25 a day and generally get a decent nights sleep. I know I am very lucky to get a good nights sleep as many don't but l just want to be able to do things like go out for a meal or to the theatre without my legs twitching so Badley I want to scream! Am going to start taking one Ropinerole as soon as the dreaded creeping feeling starts which can be Nytime dependent on how tired I am And see how that goes.

I only have RLS at night and not every night. Am 72 and my mother also had RLS. I think it's due to stress or alcohol so rarely drink alcohol now. I wear copper bracelets at night if I have RLS and take Valerian some nights. I am not keen to take any medication for RLS as am concerned about long term side effects. My RLS is not as bad as some people's on this forum but I think I am managing it better.

My legs feel wobbly or weak sometimes and I think it is a side effect of the meds. In my case Neupro and Pramipexol. And maybe the nerves (mind) are also playing a role in this ghastly Rls business.

Alcolhol is an absolute no-go.

Does it ever go away for a long time? Many years ago when I had Rls in a mild form it did stay away for many weeks. This is alas not the case any more.

My RLS went away for 4 months but then it came back, that is why I am asking these questions so we can check out some tips to make it better...

I take no special RLS MEDS (just a painkiller sometimes to sleep better)

Also hot weather makes it a lot worse...

I have occasionally experienced periods of time where my RLS just disappeared. Once for 2 months. But I haven’t experienced that since it got really bad about 5 years ago and I got on Ropinirole. Sometimes I wonder what the long term effects of being on that drug are? I augmented and no longer take it, but It did leave me with RLS worse than before I started the drug.

I’ve always tried to figure out what was different about that 2 month time period. But I can’t really point to anything. I was in the middle of buying a house and moving. So you would think the stress of all that would have made things worse, not better.

I know one thing, if you are very busy with your mind like moving-working a lot or walking...that is when it gets a lot better. It seems to me if you want to take a break ALL HELL begins...that is what I think. A lot of doctors here think that RSL is not a big thing...

Do not take too much meds because then you will get 2 problems.

Try to take a pill only if you really need it.

Hi, I have a lot of thread veins on my legs and feet and had these for around 20 years, my restless legs have bothered me on and off for the same amount of time. When I was put on fluoxetine for anxiety and depression my legs became unbearably jumpy and cramping up. Before the jumping began, several times when I have Quit smoking the restless legs dramatically improved. Has anyone else found this?

I'm now on a low dose of pramipexole and have been taking it for 5 months without any problems.

My RLS started after EVLT-operation on the leg. If you don't know what that is: Lasering the veins. My doc told me I had venous insufficiency and when I got home after a few weeks my feet got numb-then I got RSL and at this moment I have also a little bit of shaky hands but it are my legs that are wobbly that I hate the most.

Do have some relief when I wear serious compressing stockings. And a soda drink with kinine helps also a bit...

So maybe veins and RLS go together???
