This is a quote from Jesse previously.

"I have never been on the Neupro patch (although did go through augmentation and withdrawal from ropinirole) but a lot have come off it by getting a prescription for the 1mg patches and then cutting them ( even though you are not supposed to do so) and reducing the dose slowly by 0.5mg every 2/3 weeks."

From a quick search on this site,-- hopefully you may find it helpful.

Cheers.

I am on 1mg Neupro patch. I take a break from it every few months and my RLS is terrible during the break. I am only able to do it with strong painkillers which do help alot and enable me to stay off Neupro for 2 weeks at a time. Why are you coming off? Augmentation? I would make sure you have painkillers eg Tramadol before you stop the patch. X

With insurance it is still over $500.00. I’m just tired of being strapped to the pharmacy. I am only taking 1mg as well, along with gabapentin.

So sorry it is soooooo expensive for you. Luckily in the UK I don't pay for prescriptions as I am over the age of 60. Hopefully the Gabapentin and a painkiller will help you x

My wife would be ok if I divorced her and after 49 year that is not going to happen

I was on it for 3 1/2 months when it started augmenting.

I forgot to apply it one night and noticed my legs wern't as bad. I left it off from then on and used Panadiene and Tamezapam until i saw my Neurologist. I am now on Clonazepam which works well for me. It allows me to have a good sleep at night and i just deal with the rls during the day. You can deal with anything if you get your sleep.

Best wishes to you for weaning off.

I came off the patch 9 months ago. It took 4 months - just as bad as Mirapex.

I used Tramadol to ease it a bit.

Good luck. It may be different from you.

How much was your dose? Sorry you went through that.

I am just at the start of weaning off Neupro .Could you tell me if when your withdrawals lessened? What do you take now instead? What was your reason for coming off the Neupro. Thankyou in advance - Pipps x

Hello Pippins2,

I came off the patch as soon as I noticed signs of augmentation, which I recognized, having been on Sifrol before. It was pretty bad for all of the 4 months and stopped from one day to the next. I cut the patch in half right from the start.

I now take 300mg Pregablin at about 6.30pm, 100mg slow release Tramadol at about 8.30pm and 50mg of ordinary Tramadol if the RLS breaks through during the night.

So far, so good. Most nights are OK.

I hope you get through it without too much grief - horrible condition when the cure is sometimes worse than the affliction.

I was on the 2mg patch, which I cut in two.
