My woes and worries.

Hi another newby here

Could I start with the main medical problems i have. RLS severe in my legs, base of spine, armpits and upper arm.

I have had two heart attacks,2 mio cardiac infractions and 2 stents fitted.

Lung disease COPD was a minor for 12 yrs also i have acute kidney disease

30 yrs ago i had a bad bout of thyroid cancer where they cut me from one ear to the other, and down both shoulders, they took out all the glands and all the mustles so i have no usr of my upper arms.

three prolapsed discs near bottom of mt back.

People will be think i should get put down. no i'm a fighter.

sorry it has taken this so long to write all this down.

Wow Robroy, you are strong! And inspirational.

Are you on any medication for your rls? It sounds like you have enough to contend with without having to deal with widespread and severe rls also. Hopefully there are steps you can take to reduce the severity at least.

Yes lots of meds, As others do I take ropinorol 4 @ 25ml. 4 nightly Pramiprepsol 88micrograms, 3 @ per day lorazapam, 40 mg ,

another 40mg off Temazepam @ night, plus another different, plus another 18 names at so many times off the day.

Check the side effects of pramiprepsole, They can make you over sexed or even start you on a new career in shop lifting

Why would I start lifting shops, I was 700 last week.

Wow, that is a lot of meds. Re the ones we know that are usually prescribed for RLS, it strikes me that you take both ropinirole and pramipexole. Both are the same class of medicines, dopamine agonists. So why take two different ones in the same class? And both are very (too!) high amounts for RLS, increasing the likelihood of augmentation. Augmentation is when RLS symptoms start earlier in the day, start sooner after taking the meds, and when the symptoms spread to other body parts. There is another aspect that I don’t remember right now.

Additionally, many meds may induce RLS symptoms, most antidepressants, antihistamines, and others. You can find a long and full list with explanation on the treatment page of rlshelp.org

Anyway, I think it would be very wise to review your meds with the prescribing doctor, or, maybe better because more knowledgeable, a pharmacist. You don’t write about RLS symptoms, but as you post on the RLS forum, I assume you have them and they still nother you, in spite of the medicines tou take that are supposed to deal with the RLS.

As your energy level is obviously low, can you get someone else ( partner, child, close friend) to help you gather information before you talk to your doctor again or the pharmacist?

Hi LotteM, They are both similar, 4 Prameprepsole is the max allowed, to get round this i was given the other on top because it is very severe.don't know if anyone here has had it but the armpits ate a bit of a nightmare for me.

RobRoy, it is quite likely that the pramipexole and ropinerole are causing a worsening in your symptoms through augmentation. How long have you been on these drugs? Do you remember if your rls was as bad as it is now before you started them?

Symptoms in the armpits sounds truly dreadful and very consistent with the issues caused by augmentation. You may need ultimately to change drug regimes.

Incidentally a doctor who boosts ropinerole with pramipexole is showing a grave ignorance about these drugs, their side effects and the general treatment of rls. It is not fanciful to be concerned about possible shop-lifting, sex addiction, erectile dysfunction, gambling or internet shopping addictions being caused by pramipexole. It is very well documented and many on here have experienced these side effects.

Oh you poor dear. You need the Lord to come soon and give you a new body. Medical cannabis works for a lot of people, and pramipexole hydrochloride monohydrate works for me.
