I have heard so much about CBD lately. What is the best kind/strength to help combat this unfortunate condition we all have. Any and all comments welcome

Hi mmb8083 I tried CBDa (raw) oil for a year - it wasn't strong enough to help me to sleep despite being very good for my overall health. I did not try CBD which is the decarboxylated activated (heated) form of CBD which is stronger and more potent. I am now on medical cannabis which is a mix of CBD and THC and it wonderful in helping me to sleep and reduce my RLS. Overall my advice is unless you get your oil from a reliable source you do not know the potency - I personally find that the THC really makes the oil work for sleep and RLS rather than CBD alone but others have found it does help them. However in some countries oil containing THC is illegal.

Hi, Goldy, I'm so glad that MM has worked so well for you! I'm looking into it for my own use. I live in Massachusetts, USA, which allows MM. so I'm going to start the process. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you some questions about this.

Did you go through your own GP to get the certification, or some other doctor?

How did you settle on that particular mix of CBD and THC? Did you try any other combinations, with more or less THC?

What time of day do you take it? And when do your RLS symptoms show up?

How do you feel the next day? Does it make you feel woozy in the morning?

Lastly, what other RLS meds are you taking?

Thanks!

Hi rls_optimist - My GP in Australia uses the Althea App which makes it easy for her. She decided that a mix of 1 part THC to 2 parts CBD was a good mix for me based on sleep issues and RLS . I don't get RLS in the day so I take it an hour before bed and I am still on a very low dose but it is adequate for good sleep and for me to cope with the much reduced RLS only once a night. I could go on higher dose but it is expensive and I don't want to develop tolerance so using the least I can. I feel great the next day and not woozy - a bit calm but that is OK. I do not take other RLS medications. I have tried them but didn't like the side effects. I think one of the things when you get prescribed medical cannabis in Australia is you need to be off other medications as it is still a bit experimental and my doctor does not want the symptoms getting mixed up. She is actually doing research on cannabis.

Try 5% X 4 a day. I'm in UK & buy online from Holland & Barrett. As of November 1st CBD available on NHS though don't know if that's restricted to epilepsy or whether RLS included. GP will know. I have spasticity as well as RLS & gets rid of RLS & suppresses Spasticity to 85/90% . Good luck Sleek Cat

I have just bought 5% CBD from Holland and Barrett ( in Spain) but cannot find information on dosage or application. I have quite severe RLS and have significantly reduced Ropinirole but still have problems. How much and how do you use/take the oil please?

I have been using a cbd/the combination just when I need to sleep. Not too much otherwise it may keep you up enjoying the relaxation for a change . Experimenting is the best as it seems each strain hits people differently.

Casi I said take 1 drop 4 times a day. If that doesn't work after 1 week then talk to nutrionist at H&B Sleek Cat
