What to take
Hi Beady
Good to get organised before your visit. The more prepared you are the better and the less likely to be fobbed off with something you don’t want.
I thought you were going to follow Jools advise from your last post? Or has something changed since then?
Pam
Hi Beady, 2mg Neupro is probably not enough. I went on to 3 mg quite soon and have been on it for more than a year. I also take Magnesium, Turmeric and B12 and carefully watch what I eat. I only take 2 co-dydramol if and when needed. Good luck with your GP.
Thank you for your reply, I am trying turmric next week , I do whatch my food as I don’t think sugar helps, it doesn’t make sense how you have a good night and bad and yet you have had the same sort of day , well at least I have a nice doc and we are on first names that helps , let you all know how I get on x
I would repeat my previous advice BUT I would first check that you are not in Augmentation. I’ve read your past posts and replies and you augmented on Ropinirole. That puts you at high risk of augmenting on the patch.
Discuss Augmentation fully with your GP.
Hi Beady,
Requip is Ropinirole hydrochloride - it’s just one of the brand names for it.

from RLS UK website.
Do not let him give you another dopamine agonist ( pramipexole/ mirapex/ sinemet/ Levodopa).
Tramadol can also cause Augmentation.
Let’s see what he says.
Jools
Beady, I second everything Joolsg has said.
I read you are already on tramadol and pregabalin. If indeed you have augmentation again, you may ask your doctor to temporarily increase the dosis of tramadol, while you reduce the neupro patch slooowwwly. Hopefully a higher dose of tramadol will not give you bas side effects. Also ask to get switched to 1mg patches and reduce first by using 1 1/2 patches ( they CAN) be cut into two.
Again, IF you have augmentation, you will have to see how coming off the patch works out. And, once completely off the patch and symptoms have settled a bit, you will have to find out whether you can reduce the tramadol again ( no good to be on a high dose of tramadol for too long). And may you then have to increase the pregabalin - but maybe not. Have your doctor monitor you closely.
Also, it will not harm at all to have another ferritin test now and try to get your ferritin well above 100 ( by taking ironbisglycinate or ferrofumerate every other night - and NOT three time a day, as is the ‘normal’ advice).
When will you see your doctor again? Keep us posted, preferably by replying to this thread.
Beady remember i mentioned Targinact when we messaged .Thats a strong painkiller than helps with RLS .It is licensed for RLS .Worth a go .Good luck my friend x
