If you use the Search facility and type in Hypnosis there are a couple of past threads on this subject.

Here is one of the past threads on Hypnosis from a year ago:

And how much is this life coach going to charge you? If you read through the thread that kaarina posted that will give you an idea. In 28 years of groups, I have never met anyone out of thousands who were helped with hypnosis. Pretty big claim for him to make, to be able to cure a neurological disease that no one else can cure. Hypnosis is good for behavioral issues, it is not going to make your neuroreceptors work any better in your brain, to be really honest. But, you can always give it a try, I just don't like people to get ripped off.

Thank you to everyone that replied , I looked at the previous reviews.

I was told £200. For 2 cds

I get what your saying.

I have spent a fortune on other things that hasn’t worked.

Have to be very careful when someone promises you anything about curing RLS, it will be a waste of time and money every time. Unfortunately the internet is full of empty promises. Better to stick to the reputable RLS web sites. :)

Yes I know that.

But we are all chasing an answer and I know what works for one won’t work for another.

Very true. It can be a lot of trial and error, for sure.

Can you tell me what you take prescription wise

I’m on 75 pregablin in the morning and night

I came off all drugs and now I’m back on them. They work for a little while then stop. I was on 75 in the morning and 300 at night. I’m not sure what the proper dose is.

Can I name my dr on this site to find out who else gets seen by her. I don’t think she’s clued up.

I personally would doubt it very much. Of alternative therapies around I tried Bowen which did help but you have to keep it up. Tried acupuncture which didn’t but thought I might give that another go. The guy I spoke thought it might help but he didn’t make promises. No one so far has a cure so be sceptical of anyone who says they have. I have tried everything for over 30 yrs and still find it random and what I think works suddenly does not. Had a slight better night last night after weeks of hell but don’t know how

What’s Bowen and how did it help I’m very interested

It is very small muscle movements. She makes a little tweak on the muscles. Leaves it for a couple of mins then another one. Look it up on line

I have booked an appointment with a Bowen therapist

I’m going tonight let you know how that goes.

A Bowen therapist? What does that mean? If you’ve answered this elsewhere, forgive me - I didn’t see it. The only kind of “Bowen therapist” I know of is a psychotherapist who practices Murray Bowen’s family - based therapy, so I’m confused.

Hiya - I tidy try hypnotherapy but for me it didn't work, probably because I don't really believe so would be less susceptible to it! You must do what you feel if right or best for you. RLS is horrendous and has left me desperate in the past. Take care x

No no no.

If your symptoms are caused by anxiety, so not truly RLS, perhaps he can. I don’t know how hypnosis can correct a chemical imbalance in the brain, though.

I watched this stage hypnosis where he can take things out your mind like your name and I wanted him to take my restless legs away.

Your name is not a physical part of you, though, and doesn’t involve chemistry. Try hypnosis if it’s appealing to you, and please let us know - right away and then after 3 or 6 months - how your RLS is doing. Even if you have to repeat the hypnosis every few months, but are symptom free in between, it would be worth it to me - I’d try it, too. I’d be happy to take my words back!

Tried a couple of years ago Dasymoo, didn’t work for me I’m afraid. I had 2 sessions without success. Acupuncture is one alternative I also tried, with fairly good results with relief for 2-3 day’s, ( not rls free, but calmer), but it became quite costly. 2 x £40 per week!!!

Hope you find peace. John

Thank you.

Interesting you'd bring up hypnosis. I'm going to a DO for physical therapy, really helping with back issues. He offered hypnosis for RLS, but the guy clearly knows nothing about the affliction. Betting he thinks it's all in the mind. We all know better than that!
