Hi all,

I love my weighted blanket! I got it from a company called Sensory Goods (sensorygoods.com). It’s 10% of my body weight. It helps a lot with anxiety. It also helps quiet my smaller movements, but any bigger ones and I just kick it off. When I have a bad night, sometimes I put the full weight of it on my legs and move them up and down.
It sounds like the Mirapex is starting to augment on you. If the RLS is coming earlier in the day. Put Augmentation and RLS in the search box at the top right hand side if this page you will get plenty of posts and comments on Augmentation and dopamine meds,
Hi ya - hadn't heard of weighted blankets. Do they help with RLS and how? I am on Pramipexole along with Codeine and Magnesium Citrate. Yes, I get daytime RLS some days and if bad take an extra tablet - yes, some say that's augmentation and stop taking it but no, I get relief most nights and sleep well. I deal with the other stuff - it's horrible but I keep on. My neurologist says I can up the meds a bit more - some on this sight wouldn't agree but you have to go with what's best for you at the time. As a life long sufferer - from aged 13 to now (52) it can be a very personal battle. Take care xx
That sounds like augmentation. How much pramipexole do you take?
With augmentation, the symptoms start earlier in the day. It might be the progression of the disease, but it is more likely that your meds are making it worse.
Try anything you can to help, but check the augmentation story first. If it is this, then you must be very careful with increasing your dose.
Take evidence to your provider.
Mirapex has been a miracle drug for my rls. Started out with 1 mgm before bed. Now tak 1 mg 4 times a day to keep it at bay most of the time. Had gradually needed to add one in morning one in afternoon, now up to four times. Been over a year with no new break throughs. It's bad when the meds don't work. Only problem is weght gain.
