After quitting pram about 2 months ago and being on lyrica for about the same time i have to say that rls has recently got better.I am at 300 mg of lyrica (split in 2 doses) and 100 mg of tramadol at night. My nights are definitely much better.I only have one rls episode or max two and they usually susbide after about 20 min or so.I also had 2 rls free nights this week.I still have rls at daytime if i lie down but i think its less and hope it will get better.I had an absolutely awful withdrawal.Very glad that it seems to have come near the end of it.

Rls gets better
I’m so glad to hear this!!!
Glad you are now doing so much better being off the Pramipexole.
Well done Katerina!
Well done Katerina. Thinking of you
That is good. We hear about people struggling a lot so a more upbeat report is very encouraging
That's wonderful. Just a word of warning and I don't want to burst your bubble honestly, but I found Lyrica an absolute miracle for a couple of years and then I began to have augmentation with it too. This is becoming more recognised. I wish I knew the answer. I wonder if some drug free days might help the effect last though you can't stop Lyrica suddenly so probably not. Maybe reducing the dose for a couple of days each week?? I am not suggesting realistically that this should be done and have no idea of the safety aspect. It's just that when something is found which works we need to find a way for it to remain so and I think we need the neurologists to work out how we do this.
I think 300mg is the max dose isn't it. But if it is ever recommended that you take more I advise against as that is what happens with augmentation. I started at 50mg and gradually needed more and more.
I have heard of this too. It is one good reason to be on a combination of drugs. I wonder if it would be an idea to gradually reduce one and increase the other and then reverse it again every few months. This might prolong the effectiveness of both.
Alison, I'm just now starting on lyrica to get me off the miripex. 200mg lyrica. Thank u for the warning
Delighted to hear things are going well for you, Katerina. It is worth keeping an eye on any medications as Alison's post illustrates. Your rls may continue to improve (mine continued to improve for at least six months after I came off pramipexole) and you may find you can get by with a much lower dose ultimately. Good luck and keep us posted. I think we are getting some of your lovely weather here in Dublin this weekend.
I can't take tramadol. Bad reaction. I wonder if something like trazadone would work?
I believe some people have a good outcome with trazadone. I don’t know much about it. In my experience, finding the optimal treatment for rls requires an open mind and a lot of experimentation. A compliant GP or a forceful attitude to your medical carers are also helpful.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
That's great news! Glad you are doing better! It gives me hope.
Hi Katerina. That is good to hear/ I glad for you.
I have severe RLS which also effects my arms. I have noticed that the symptoms go away or lessen if I don’t eat chocolate or anything with sugar in it especially before bedtime.
I don’t know if others have experienced this but I hope it helps.
Best wishes
Karen
I'm so glad to hear this as well!! Yay!
