Dancing Leggs Now called RLS

I have been dealing with this for more than 50 years. I had told many doctors about my sever legs cramp at nite time and I had to get up and walk. Good old doctors would treat me like it's just legs cramps, lady. None of them say those word, but they would pull out their script pads and write me antidepression drugs. I didn't know about the term RLS un till 2002. There was an add for Requip, for RLS.

Now my RLS is better: however, now I have many of the side effects of the serious list. I am scared because I know what I know in for 18 to 20 hours of RLS. What other treatment is there?

Hi, there are alternatives such as opioids, tramadol is weak opioid and works for some people.

Do you have the usual symptoms of having to move your legs to get any relief from the horrible sensation in them?

I think initially you need to back to your own GP and get a different medication like tramadol.

Poor guy. Lather with ibprofen gel and get it massaged in really well. It works for me but not everyone.

Try reducing your sugar intake (and remember that fruit and grains contain fructose and fructans). I've found that it works for me.

You might want to try Co Q 10. It worked for me. It was recommended by a doctor to prevent leg cramps that could develop due to cholesterol medication. 800 mg taken in the morning worked for me. No prescription needed.

I DO use opiates, and I had tried EVERYTHING imaginable FIRST. They are the only meds that work for me, period.

Did u try gabapentin? Not addictive, no augment side effects minimal and 90 percent effective

rlshelp.org Go to the treatment page. There ARE many options. Dopamine meds, like Requip, can turn on you. If that is the only med you have tried, then you need to read up. 50 years is waaaay too long to suffer. There are many better options for some people, and we need to educate ourselves. I assume you are in the US since you say you saw an ad for Requip. The US and New Zealand are the only countries that allow direct to consumer advertising for drugs.

Try gabapentin.

I would avoid 'rlshelp.org' like the plague. All they do is recommend drugs and RLS isn't caused by a drug deficiency.

Also, you have not said what dose of Requip you are on. Too much is as bad as none. Put augmentation into the search box here. You cannot just STOP taking them, you need to wean down on the dopamine meds slooooowly.

It's not a popular choice but I used 1/4 teaspoon of Kratom only st night and it's completely gone. Of course a plant will cure it. I've now come off the Kratom with no sided effects and will take it more if I need to.

I really do worry about pharma meds Read up on all the fear of Kratom and then the same people say are taking big pharma with a long list of side effects

It worked for me Read up on it and try it Kids are taking Kratom and using it for recreation. They take 10x the amount I'm saying. Use the red magne strain and only use 1/4 teaspoon. For me it completely got rid of it Now I'm off not and hoping my body doesn't bring back the RLS again

I'm an engineer with three degrees. I learn by trying and doing it smart

Good luck
