Not certain, but I think it's very expensive and doesn't come in generic.

Yep, US only, and somehow with lots of $$$$$$ thrown in, there is no generic and the company that makes Horizant got the patent extended until 2021!! NO ONE gets a patent that long! And, the company that made this put their eggs all in one basket with this med, and it is an epic fail, in general. For some people it helps, it is a "pro drug" so is assimilated differently, thru the bowels instead of the stomach. I was the first one in my state to try it, I want to say 2009?, and the pharmacist had never heard of it , so he ordered it. I tried it for a month, and it was a no go. For most people I know who have tried it, I would say 80% are not happy with it at all. I know I was not happy.
