Just to add its only in the morning

Could be down to tiredness or over sedation from night medication. How soon after getting up does it go and what drugs do you take at night?

The more tired I am the more clumsy I get and the more I walk into things. I have a nice cut on my forehead where I walked into stairs about 10 minutes after cutting the top of my head walking into a door! Mr Bump wouldn't have a look in!!

Hi thank you for the reply I take neuro patch 2g and gaberpentain 200 sorry can't spell it

in reply toBettyboop45

Both of those drugs can cause tiredness. I assume the Gabapentin is at night, when do you change the patch?

I change it every evening

It's LIKELY the drugs, mind you I'm no Dr.

Do you ease into the day or meet it head on? Might be a good excuse to spend the morning with your feet up and a nice cuppa in hand :)

Ahh that would be lovely... but no, I work full time

in reply toBettyboop45

I was going to say pity about working full-time but having been retired on sick grounds I'd love to be.

Maybe set the alarm a bit early so you can get up and going a bit easier allowing you to acclimatise to the day so to speak?

Ahh lucky girl. I had to give work away. RLS has stolen so much of the enjoyable pursuits of my life. I absolutely loved my work.

Hi Bettyboop

My balance is poor in the morning and in the evening after taking my night time Ropinerole.

I put it down to side effects of medication.

Thanks for your reply

Hi Bettyboop45,

I recently (last 2 days) started to notice a worsening in my balance as well, which I attribute to lack of good sleep quality. How is your sleep quality? (Not just whether you sleep or not, but the quality of that sleep). My sleep quality is extremely poor, so I was wondering if the same might be true for you?

My sleep can be 50/50 at times just when I got in the shower the other morning I bent down to pick something up and my balance was awful... I have asked the doc is it vertigo she said no she don't know why and also I get the terrible taste of smoke in my mouth even though I don't smoke but again the docs said they don't know

Me again!

Ummm...so, you get dizzy when bending down? Sounds like a more serious culprit is at play here. How long has this been going on? The reason I'm asking is it could be crystal flu. Have you ever had crystal flu? (that's when the ear crystals get dislodged). If you've had it once, the chances of getting it again are unfortunately pretty good. It might be worth looking into. I had it last year and it knocked me way off balance. My husband would just not stop moving when I looked at him! :) I had to go to 8 treatments with a physiotherapist before it went away.

Hope you get down to the cause!

Are you on any blood pressure medicine? Bending with your head down and then standing straight can cause a drop in blood pressure and dizziness. My GP changed me to a one without a diuretic because it lowered my pressure too much and caused the dizziness.

Meds maybe?
