Thought I'd share an interesting little episode from yesterday. I was moving a few things around in the house in connection with redecorating, and a heavy metal shelf propped up against a wall suddenly tipped over and crashed onto a little toe. It didn't hurt too much at first, though the pain increased gradually, so I thought I'd put my foot in ice cold water to prevent swelling.
Just as I sat down with my foot (and now blue-black little toe) swilling around in the water bath, I suddenly had an awful attack of restless legs, which in my version feels like the nerves around the joints in my buttocks are being overstimulated. So there I sat, squiggling around in my armchair to ease the RLS, and waving my foot backwards and forwards in the water, both to alleviate the sudden onset RLS. I'd more or less forgotten by then about the nearly crushed little toe, but the swelling went down eventually, and colour returned to normal more or less - not a pleasant sight at the best of times at my age
best to everyone,
Chris
