RLS at it's worse

HI guys I was reading some of the post and I too have had RLS for some years now, i'm on 1500mg a day of gabapentin, I take 20mg of baclofen at night and on my worst days I will add 50mg of tramadol. But just recently I saw my neurologist a new one might I add. She replaced tramadol with Tylenol w codeine. Wanted to see if anyone out there takes this and actually helps?

Codeine is very good at treating RLS.

You'll have to try and see; RLS and its treatment is different for everybody. That is one of the things one learns when reading through the posts and replies on this forum.

I took 20 mg codeine and topped it up with 500-1000 mg paracetamol (Tylenol) when it didn't work. Still didn't work, even when I added 400 mg ibuprofen. Tried it for 4 nights.

But then, this was when I had stopped ropinirol (used to be 0,75 mg), that has been replaced by 200 mg gabapentin. Both at night only.

Now I take the 200 mg gabapentin and 50 tramadol. And I sleep!

But again,as I stopped ropinirol only 6 nights ago, and am most likely still going through withdrawal, this may not be representative and relevant for you.

Give it a try. In my opinion, if you can control RLS with the least amount and weakest medicines, the better. Good luck!

As Lotte says, you will have to try it and see. I used paracetamol (Tylenol) with codeine and gabapentin and it worked mildly for about 3 months. I then had to try heavier drugs to get any sleep. I take oxycontin and pregabalin ( Lyrica) and manage 5/7 decent nights.
