Might be the new drug is the culprit.
Oh Hi and welcome.
Thank you for the reply and welcome.
I'm due to call my GP on Monday so will find out then.
I was curious if others had come across this problem.
Hi there, I've never heard of water retention or water tablets causing exacerbation of RLS - but that's not to say that it might not - as you will see repeated often, it is an idiosyncratic condition and sufferers respond differently to many things. If you haven't done so already, it is worth checking that you are not taking any medications that inadvertently worsen symptoms (eg antihistamine, cough medicine etc). It is also worth getting your iron levels checked if you haven't already. US experts recommend keeping serum ferritin levels at over 100 and many find that their symptoms improve when they raise levels.
Hi
Thanks for a comprehensive and productive reply. I am now inclined to believe that the water tablets are a distraction. I am on a fairly heavy dosage of Gabapentin to ease the pain of a trapped sciatic nerve. I take Ropinirole for the restless legs.
Your suggestion about iron is something I will look at.
