Hi yes I'm on 900mg a day for pain and pramipexole for rls,
I think you have made an error on your dosage? In general Gabapentin tends to work really well or not at all so it is worth a go you may be lucky. Igot up to 3,600 mg a day and it didn't make a jot of difference but some get excellent results from it. It does take a while to build up in your system though. Good luck with it,
Pipps x
I don't think you are!
It doesn't come in single mgs.
That is a dose more suited to Ropinirole and IF it is that its too high a dose. IF mind!
Gabapentin 100 mg on now I correct my self
That's a low dose so you will have plenty of room to increase it. For myself all it did was give me an insatiable appetite but that's the thing with drugs - what works for one may not work for another. Are you getting good relief?
Take care
Thanks- that makes more sense!😃
100 is the lowest dose and would be regarded as a starter - the Dr will up your dose gradually until it has an effect. Dr Buchfurer reckons that 900 is the max effective dose for rls. So be careful if your Dr goes further. It is not a nice med to come down off and can have some bad side effects. Not for everyone.
Keep at it- it will take a few weeks to have any effect. Too many people give up too soon- and there is a limited number of medicines available for rls.
Good luck.
I have taken up to 900 msg a day for a yr now. In the last 3 nights I've had such severe RLGs I woke up sideways. Gabapentin does nothing for me.
I'm on this .. most of the time I find it works , but every so often I find nothing works..
I started off on 100mg 3 times daily. On hospital docs advice it was gradually increased to 300mg at lunch time and 600mg at 6 o'clock. My legs went into overdrive. I believe the tablets actually made my rls worse
I take 900 mg of Gabapentin at 9 pm every night (I set an alarm) and ONLY get it the bed when I am very sleepy (not just tired) and have been 99.9 % RLS free since February.
