Be careful with that drug, please read the side-effects carefully and make sure someone else close yo you is aware of the side-effects too.

ALSO read up on augmentation, it is a very common problem with that drug that many Drs are unaware of.

Why are you coming off the Pramipexole..? If you were augmenting on them, then its not recommended to go onto another dopamine med you will just augment on the Ropinerole.

i agree with Raffs and Elisse. i augmented on 1/2 mg and even on that low dose i had urges to spend money on things i didn't need. it took huge amounts of will power to resist . Having said all that it did give me 15 years of help with rls symptoms. expect nausea to start but it wears of after you get used to it.

Please be careful with Pramipexole. I was put on that 6 years ago. I started getting worse 2-3 years ago. Augmentation (a side effect of this medication meaning a worsening of the condition) was my culprit. This side effect can take years to manifest itself. Darn thing almost cost me my life!

It would not be usual to replace pramipexole with ropinerole. The reasons for discontinuing pramipexole would normally counter-indicate starting ropinerole. I would be inclined to ask your doctor for his/her reasoning here. The most common reason for discontinuing pramipexole is augmentation and ropinerole will probably carry on the augmentation problems where pramipexole left off. I suppose it might work if you were experiencing difficult side effects with pramipexole but in general do look out for compulsive behaviour - in particular shopping and gambling as either medication can cause or contribute to that.
