Has anyone had RLS symptoms happening mainly in there toes and feet.

I'm honestly not sure if this is RLS or something other. It started yesterday, suddenly while laying in bed. I adjusted the position of my foot, and then about 2 seconds later l felt the need to move it again. After that I just kept wiggling my toes (this was only in one foot) unable to stop. When I stopped, I was able to stop only for a few seconds before feeling like I absolutely needed to move them around again. I couldn't sleep very well, and woke up many times through the night. I also never woke up in the middle of the night or had insomnia before. In fact, I have a scarily deep sleep. When I fall asleep, usually after only 20-30 minutes I could be shook back and forth by someone trying to wake me and I wouldn't wake up right away. I've never had anything like this happen until it instantly started. It wasn't gradually happening. I just got into bed last night after being a cashier at my job for several hours and was on my phone for probably an hour until it suddenly just started. Other information: I'm 16, male, it's not painful, I have an admittedly very unhealthy diet, eating fast food usually at least twice a week as well as drinking a lot of soda. I also however drink plenty of water, orange juice, milk, and eat tons of salads, fruit, vegetables, and more healthy stuff. I have a lot of unhealthy intake but also a lot of healthy intake too and I am incredibly skinny (Like see-my-ribs-in-the-mirror-skinny 😂) I am on the antidepressant Zoloft, as well as Rispertal, and Concerta for mood stabilizaton, and focus help because of my ADHD. I have never done marijuana, or any other drugs other than things prescribed for my ADHD, Mood, Depression, and over the counter stuff for headaches and coughs like Excedrin, Advil, and Delsym. My mothers father had RLS. I'm not allergic to anything as far as I'm aware. I didn't do anything different yesterday than usual. And the last thing I can think of that might be important to add is that I was really tired today, yesterday (the day it started), and the day before, to the point where I slept during a good majority of the days. This isn't really that odd though I don't think because I'm in high school so I'm always sleep deprived. Even before these past few days, I very often would just sleep for up to 4-5 hours in the middle of the day because of how tired I always am, and also because despite not having ever been diagnosed with depression, I'm pretty sure I have it and I spend a lot of my free time laying in bed with no motivation to move so I do nothing but browse on my phone and sleep.

I know I just gave a ton of information so I apologize. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and I'm going to bring this up. Just thought I should check with people that actually have RLS so I could see if this is something that anyone else with RLS has, or if it's just leg movement. I can't seem to find anything else online talking about foot movement with RLS but I also can't find anything at all about foot movement. I can just find symptoms of RLS that I seem to have happening just in my left foot and know that the only other thing in my family line that I could think of that would cause this is that my grandpa had RLS. (I would ask him...but unfortunately he passed away from diabetes around a year ago) Thanks to anyone who responds!

Really sorry for your troubles. Sounds like you have a lot going on in your life.

You may have RLS but more likely you have triggered an episode from some of the junk food you get aquainted with!

Also , I suspect some of those medications may be triggers- but - why only now? There are other experts here who will be better able to answer that.

There is a site in Ca -- rlshelp.org --- through which you can email the expert there , and who will be able to give you a pointer as to how you can cope.

Be very careful not to let any Dr put you on rls medication without investigating its long term effects and its interaction with your current medication. (People here can help you on that one)

Stress is also a strong trigger for rls- so chill!😆😅----- yeh , I know! Easier said than done!

You have come to a good supportive site- let us know how you get on, and anything else you may think of, that could be causing this change.

Cheers.

Hi many meds can trigger RLS including the ones you are taking unfortunately. Be cautious when buying over the counter stuff, many contain Diphenhydramine which worsen /triggers RLS. I get RLS symptoms in my left foot (alongside my legs /arms )and it is the symptoms in my foot that I hate the most. I damaged my toes from the constant pushing down into the carpet to create pressure when I was too shattered to pace any longer. So yes you can definitely get RLS in your feet. Being over tired is another trigger for most of us. You will need to see how you go on over the next couple of weeks, I wouldn't be going rushing onto RLS meds after just one night but given your family history and your overwhelming urge to move sensations that there's a good chance it was the start of RLS. See how you go for now. Do a bit of reading up rls-uk.org is a good place to start. Also get your doctor to test your ferritin iron levels it needs to be over 50 preferably over 70 which is much higher than that of someone who does not have RLS. Also get tested for anemia. Good luck letus know how you go on. Take a look through old posts and comments

My RLS at it's worst gave me "burning or buzzing feet" mostly as a daytime thing. Nighttime was full-on RLS.
