I am reducing my tablets slowly and am taking more Tramadol to combat legs but my skin is so very itchy, is Gababentin any better and are there ANY anti-histamines that you can take to help.
Thanks

Gaba is good for rls - Horizant is better. The Gaba has side effects depending on dose.
Eurax is an anti itch cream, Claritin is a pill which does not trigger rls.
See posts below over the last week on these very issues.
Good luck .
Clarytin /Claritin and Allegra are considered safe x
Tramadol is terrible for making people itch, it is even worse regarding itching when reducing it. I can't use it due to side effects.
My itching stopped after about 3 months. GABA stopped working for me and the side effect were aweful. It did also stop migraines though!
Tramadol didn't help my RLS at all so switched to gabapentin ( horizant is not available in UK). It seems to keep my jumpy legs in check 4 nights out of 7 ( I'm on 900mg at night in 2 doses) but I do get double vision & diarrhoea with it ( both very common side effects).
It seems to be trial and error to find a med that works for you with acceptable side effects. It's clear from this site that one size does not fit all. Hope you find something soon,
Jools
Joolsg, you hit the nail on the head when you said "It's clear from this site that one size does not fit all." We are all so different and all of us react differently to different meds but I am so glad that I am here on this site to get such insightful suggestions and opinions. It really helps
