Pramipexole versus Neupro patch.

I didn't quite finish my last post. I want to find out if the patch works for severe RLS as I have only used dopamine drugs for ten years and I will have to deal with augmentation for a second time down the track. I would love to hear from people who find relief from the patch, especially if they have swapped from using dopamine medications. I recently went through a five weeks withdrawal from pramipexole but now I an using it again with complete relief but I will keep searching for an alternative. thank you. Kaye from Australia

Kaye I can only tell you my story,I have had rls 46 yrs got worse as years went on,I have tried so many meds and had augmentation from Requip Xl ,well am one happy bunny on 1 Tramodol 50 mg and the patch 2mg which I think is great each to his own ,I get relief 90percent of the time go for the patch ,let me know how you get on and good luck

hi KAYEXX22parker I am on the 2mg patch & to be quite honest (I was taking repinarole) I honestly don't think the patch is as good as repinarole(requip) for me repinarole was marvellous but I got augmentation so like yourself had to wean of it.(not nice) I was taking 3mg started on 0.5 but had to keep increasing it to take the RLS of. that's when I went on the patch, I have literary tried all the dopamine drugs,& I mean all of them, but found the repinarole the best. Hope you find your quest if you do let me no.

hi I have just read your post about the patch, I was taking repinarole but after awhile I started augumentating so I went through a period of (like yourself) weaning of repinarole & went on the patch, started with the 1mg this worked for awhile(1week) then had to increase it to 2mg this worked fine same as the 1mg but again it didn't last, so what I did(I no I shouldn't have done but I was desperate) my legs were going mad, I took the patch of & I took the repinarole 0.5mg it worked wonders, but I didn't want to go down that road again. (Weaning of repinarole its horrible), mind you, you will no.Anyway I have been back on the 2mg patch know for about 4wks but I cannot sleep, so yesterday 28/11/16 I went to my GP he gave me some sleeping pills(only 7 to try & get me back into a sleeping pattern)my body clock as gone upside down & he told me to reduce my patch he said it might be the rotigotine that was keeping me awake.so that's were I am at the moment.
