Trying to get off Meripex

I had to take .75 lastnight my arm was not going to let me rest. I think I will not go down yet I hate that feeling. I know this is going to be very hard to do but I want give up on getting off of this medicine. I tried and I thought well .75 is not like taking 2 mg of the medicine if it helps me live normally. I wish I didn't have this RLS 😔 It's so hard sometimes.

Mirapex is not to be take lightly.

It will take you a long time to come down VERY SLOWLY. It won't be easy.

I completely understand your desire to get off it quickly- but you were/ are on quite a high dose and your body is not going to like you taking away its "comfort"

Take it slow and easy.

I have had RLS for 4 decades

I now take Mirapex 0.25 one tablet at 4 30 pm with Sinemet100/25.

Then at bedtime I take 3 Mirapex and one sinemet with marvellous results.

I find it very important not to eat refined foods esp with sugar, no alcohol, coffee and tea only before lunch.

If I will be in a confined space, eg dentist, bus or plane , I take one of each tablets immediately prior.

I have a pretty normal life now after sooooo many awful nights/evenings,

.I am 80 years old and am a full time Nanny for my !3 month old Great Grand-daughter.

You have to work at finding the right doses for you.
