tramadol
Im really wanting to stick with either otc meds or what i what i would prefer natural herbs an teas
i"ve never tried any natural herbs. i"am willing to try anything if it would help. let me know if you come up with anything. oldblue
When taking Tramadol you needed to take 2 at a time and usually add something like Lyrica,Tylenol, or Motrin to it.
not necessarily. Tramadol works all by itself for many people. It was my first RLS med, and worked like magic all by itself. Had to go to stronger pain meds for other things, and they work great too, for ME. It is different for everyone. Some can take 1 50 mg tramadol and works fine for them. different doses and meds for different people.
my daughter gave me her lyrica few wks. ago. my belley swelled up like a pumpkin. i looked like a 68 yr. old male 8 months preg. thanks any way. maybe we can help some other time. oldblue
Hi, I got this letter now. Maybe you need to scroll further down, try it again, I'm here on the computer. I tried oxi once while I was waiting for my tramadol prescription and it was the weekend so I had to wait and needed something or i would go into fits too. It did work, but I don't want to be hooked on anything, the tramadol doesn't make you dependent on it. I'm looking right now at what I just wrote and scrolling down it says SUBMIT REPLY, it's there.
i just got back from taking jax, our yorkie squirrel hunting. did you get my location post? if not i live in western nc ( Robbinsville ) can"t remember all i posted. maybe you"ll grt it. oldblue
Tramadol is a synthetic narcotic, and while it may not be AS addictive as true narcotic/opiates it can create dependence. There is a fine line between addiction and dependence. I am dependent on my pain meds, but I take a 2 or 3 day holiday every month to stop the dependence issue. But,, they are the only thing that stops my RLS.
Some of us only respond to Opiates, as you do. I have multiple things wrong that showed up when I was just over 50 added to RLS I've had since I was 35 and now nearing 79. If I din't get the multiple meds i get I wouldn't have wanted to stay around this long.
hey there windwalker, blair ( oldblue on this end ) when i was in my 20s-30s i had a few restless nights. i just could"nt get my body in any restful position. i did"nt know what was wrong. i had the rls in my legs only. now it can start in one of three places, legs, hips and arms. mostly in my arms now. it seems to go across my chest from one arm to the other. if i didn"t have my 10mg oxicodone i would be a total wreck by now. i've tried every med the other rls victims on the rls post have tried, with no help. i'am going back to the neurologist in dec. maybe he can help. i'll be 69 on dec. 21, and i'am determined not to let this get me down. good luck with yours. get back with me any time. oldblue
Old Blue,
I take Vicodin 5/300 for Fibromyalgia, one in the evening, along with a large dose of ropirole (time release requip) and 1500mg of gabapentin. My doctors at Mayo clinic AZ tell me I should be camatose with that much med. However that is the only way I ever sleep and then I only sleep5 or 6 hours.
I am like you, in that they should call it restless body syndrome. When I finally got Mirapex in 2002 I was ready to call it quits. Mirapex calmed the high frequency quiver I had all over, but it returns if I try cutting the meds any at all. I am 79 and will take whatever it takes to not have that feeling. If it is Opiates, so be it and if the new Medicine approved in England and coming to the USA, I will try it. I am sure the very thing that makes life worth living and does make my mind duller than before, will eventually cause my demise, but I won't live miserable.
I still play golf in AZ in the winter and IL in the summer and as long as the meds work and I can swing a club, all is good.
No , the tramadol, doesn't really help my RLS, it was prescribed for my back pain. As of today, the only thing that helps is either Mirapex ,or Pramipexole which is the same thing and it's getting to where it's starting to not work as good anymore.
