Good morning from Greece. Well I hope it is a good one. Has anyone tried reintroducing tramadol after augmenting on it, and if they have, how long should the wait be. Thank you all

Reintroducing tramadol
I dont think you should reintroduce if you have augmented on it. Another opioid?
Hi from Scotland. Hope you are well. I started Tramadol a year ago and it is working really well. I am keen to know how long you were on Tramadol before augmenting? I am aware it could happen to me too.
I was taking them for over 3 years. Actually I tried one last night after abstaining for about a month and it was perfect. So I'll use them occasionally when I really need them. For long haul flights etc. Hope they last a long time for you
Ok thats encouraging. I have some time hopefully. Did you have any side effects while on Tramadol?
I swaped from Tramadol to a slow release tramadol (in UK it's called Zamadol), I found this much better. I found my results with the regular tramadol too up and down, very inconsistent but nothing else worked at all. Then a Friend recommended the slow release and it was a total game changer for me. I have been on these a couple of years now.
Thats interesting. What side effects did you have while on Tramadol and how were you taking it? I take it 3 times a day - I was facing really bad nausea and exhaustion taking it only once a day at night and when I switched to 3 times a day it improved. Do you have any side effects with the slow release and how much do you take?
I did feel sickly and very tired. I also felt the pain free, didn't last that long. I was told by gp I could take it up to 3 a day. Now with the slow release I take one about 30mins before bed time and that usually enough. I don't get any of the side effects I got with the regular tramadol. And best of all I don't feel shattered all the time.
Thanks for the reply. That is so encouraging to hear. I feel tired most of the time - some days are terrible. I am also on Pregabalin which I am reducing to come off. I may speak to my Doc about trying the slow release once I'm off the Pregabalin. By the way, did you have a problem with Insomnia with Tramadol? I cannot sleep without taking some Trazadone to help sleep.
I just didn't get along with gabapentin or Pregabalin, too many side effects. The zamadol is the only medication I've tried that stops the RLS and still let's me have a normal life the rest of the time. I have been on it for a number of years now and I've not had to increase the dose, other than occasionally, when I get RLS during the day too. Hope you find the one that helps you have a good quality of life
