Can anyone tell me how long you give a tab befor you don't think it's going to work. I have been on Ropinorole 5 0.25 tabs for 8weeks am in bed but don't think I will be here for long legs playing up I do have 3 Gab a day. Are we all in the same boat never really get much peace. Is anyone happy with there tabs. Beady 3

Hi Beady, I think you have given it a good try for 8 weeks.Usually if the dopamine agonists are going to work it will usually be straight away.You dont seem to have been getting any improvement from them so I would say its time to try a different medication.Maybe you could swop to mirapex or the Neupro patch? Dont let your GP put up your dose of Ropinerole you are already over the maximumndose recommended by a RLS expert.

The dopamines dont work for everyone. Theres still lots more things to try dont give up hope and dont carry on with something thats not helping.

Have you had your ferritin iron checked? Hope you manage some sleep I know you are 78 years young you must be shattered take care kim x

Got to see doc Monday am going to tell to change my tabs ,at least I am one ahead of her ,thanks Kim will let you know x

If you bean on them for eight weeks and they are not working they not going to work

Does any one get compleat re leaf how much should we put up with. Do you get good nights also evenings. If so what are you on. Thanks for replying beady 3

You should be able to see if they are going to work the very first night. That is how dopamine meds work. Doctors, many times, will try someone on Sinemet when they are trying to diagnose, and if it works the first night, then they figure you have RLS. This is also what the experts advise to do. Sinemet is for short term use , MOST of the time, augmentation can show up fast with that one, so not as popular as the newer ones, even though they can cause just as much augmentation. Carbidopa/Levadopa is the generic of Sinemet, old fashioned med. 8 weeks is MORE than enough time to see if Requip will work or any drug in that class.

Thanks night dancer for giving me some information it's got to help ,my doc doesn't seem to know anything about the prob I have ,one thing is for sure I am not having the tabs increased. Will have to see the weekend through,and speak to her Monday. Be good beady 3

there is an allternative to Ropinorole called pramipexole you could try that. Ropinorole was okay for me in the beging but my body got used to it and then it started to stop working.
