Ime not due to see a neurologist until nxt month :-(

in reply torestless1973

Hi restless1973, am concerned that dusolepin is a tricyclic antidepressant .This type of medication is known for making rls go nuts and is a no no for most sufferers. As always seek medical advice before stopping any prescribed medicine

in reply to

Meant to also say I thimk the latest recommendation for ropinerole dosage for rls is now maximum of 2 mg a day.Doses over this may cause augmentation to occur sooner,.Almost sure this is what was said by a rls expert DR B but Elisse will confirm. It may be that you have augmentation made worse by the dusolepin.take care

Hi, restless1973, as p1pp1ns has said the dusolepin is a anti-d and can for most make RLS worse, but if you have been taking that for a while then that might not be a problem for you. Are you taking that for depression..?? The Proponolol (Inderal) is a beta blocker and used for anxiety and some heart problems. That shouldnt make RLS worse, or not that i have heard of. The 4mg Ropinerole, you may be starting to experience augmentation, if you are not sleeping at night, also that med could be making you so sleepy in the day. If i remember the recommended dose for Ropinerole is now 1mg. For Pramipexole. its now 2 pills of 0.088mg. The codeine could even be making you sleepy in the day, just going by my experience of taking it in the past, which is why i dont entertain taking it. I know you said you are not seeing your neuro til next month, so you will have to hang in there til then. You can do it... :)

The propronolol is for the depression, the dusolepin is to help me to sleep as i were taking 6mg ropinorole. Tried to reduce the dosage but my legs hurt like hell. But thank you for listening.

Ok, i think either you have to change the anti-d to a more RLS friendly one. See if that helps you better than the one you are on to sleep at night. Or, change the Ropinerole, then you might not need to take a anti-d. Also, you could be better off on a different med, which will not make you so sleepy in the day. Higher dosage of the dopamine agonists can have the suddenly falling asleep side effect. Of course this is just my thoughts on it. :)

Thank you. Ur thoughts are greatly welcome. Dont know what i would do without this website, cos nobody understands what ime going through here.x

We all understand what you are going throu and how you are feeling. I went 14 months at one time without any meds. i was awake every hour right throu the night, had to nap in the day when i could just to survive, would breakdown and cry with exhaustion. I eventually found a med that i could tolerate and became a human being again.

Even these days its still a battle with my meds. I can still have bad nights and days. I have changed my meds many times. It whats many of us have to do, change meds when things go wrong with them. Someone is usually always on here to listen, we have a great support group. :) x
