Hi restless1973, there is no surgery for RLS, as far as i know. Where have you heard of this. ??

Ah, i think you are talking about Deep Brain surgery. There is a post on here a while ago where this was asked. In the search box, type... Deep Brain stimulation. You will find many replies. :)

This kind of surgery that they are talking about is only for Parkinson's of now. There is no surgery or anything close tor RLS anywhere. They are doing clinical trials on deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's, but that is it and it has nothing to do with RLS at all. Maybe far into the future, but not now at all. Where did you hear this?

Never heard of any such op for RLS, like Nightdancer aware of certain brain ops for other neuro problems. I would be very cautious, although in the UK I guess the NHS will be even more so!!!! Guess it will be years before any such RLS op on NHS?

I've had brain surgery for Epilepsy. It's been 100% successful. I can't fault the NHS and the Neurologists at Frenchay. However I asked them about a similar procedure for RLS but it's an no I'm afraid :(
