I wonder how they avoid any bias that may skew the results in favour of any party with vested interest. They would need to randomise their sampling. If people select themselves then that is not random.

From what I can see they select you from the details you give them.

Hello theDragon,

So that means they do automatically include a bias in their selection process. For example they may want to assess how many people watched a particular TV programme. They may elect to exclude blind people on the assumption that they don't watch TV. But for a truly unbiased properly randomised selection process any person must be asked and including those that might at first sight not be worthy of being included.
