Since there's nothing else going on, I'll give an update on my neurontin experiment. Taking three doses of 600 mg for four days and haven't seen much, if any, improvement. This morning I started taking 900 mg doses. They say it should only take 24-48 hours to see something, but I'll give it a week. If there's no improvement, I'll give up on it and just go back to taking it around bedtime to get through the night. My doctor appointment (MA, actually) isn't until July 24. As for lyrica, I doubt it's worth giving a try. If neurontin isn't the answer, I doubt lyrica would be since they're so closely related.

Hi ookla, as far as im aware, it takes a while for neurontin to build up in your system,
Hi, Neurontin can take a few weeks to build up in your system, just as Tallula has said. I would give it a bit long. Lyrica is similar to neurontin but the dopamine agonists are also similar to each other, but those work differently for people, Some find the requip works better than the mirapex and vice versa.
I started off on Gabapentin which is related to Lyrica ( Lyrica is a more potent version of gabapentin ), it did nothing for my RLS and the side effects were awful, then moved to Requip, which actually seemed to make things worse ! I was prescribed the Lyrica for FM, and has worked a treat on the RLS.. As Elisse has said, they may be closely related, but each has its own affect !
If my RLS was uncontrolled I would try anything and everything at least once =)
At the moment 100mg twice a day, although on bad days i have taken a little more in the morning ! I have told my gp about this and she was happy for me to do so as FM has good days, but then really, really bad days =(
