Good evening Joolz and a big warm welcome to this lovely quit support site :) :)

Erm, I think Zyban is the same sort of thing as Champix :o :)

I have used Champix and I tell you, it is very good :) yes, there are quite a few side affects, BUT, thats if they affect you or not eh :o :) The thing with Champix, was when you take a tablet, to eat something with it/them :) then you wont feel sickly :o even if its a digestive biccy :)

I did get a lot of heartburn in the first 3-4 days, but after that, no messing :) although saying that, when I got onto the main dose tablets, they made me tiered :o had a rite job getting up for work in the mornings :D :D

I will ask you one thing though, please stick to the full course, cos I got flippin cocky and cut it short, hence I'm still here trying to quit eh :(

Good luck Joolz, please try it, cos if you do get too many side affects, you can always stop taking it eh :) :)

Pete :)

Hi joolz, there is NO such thing as a hopeless case, believe me :) you just haven't got anything that suits you YET but you will :) have you tried the ecig as it has helped me after smoking for over 40 years so it really can be done :) this site is very helpful and supportive, there are so many different ways that could help you so please don't give up :) other people will be on to try and help you so stay in touch and see what ideas they have :) stay positive and if you try zyban and it doesn't help - at least you will have tried :) x

Hi Joolz,

I have used Champix, they didnt suit me, and i think Sinfree struggled on them too, they made me very tired, like Monky has said, they work by stopping the messages to the neurons in your brain that demand the nicotine, for me they blocked me wanting anything, i was really quite low on them, however i did stop smoking, as didnt have the desire. I foolishly started smoking again, and this time, like Briarwood, i have stopped using the ecig, and i really dont see myself ever smoking again, i think the ecig doesnt make you feel like you are being denied anything, and for my psychie that is obviously what i need lol.

Not everyone suffers side effects from champix/zyban so if you think its what you need give it a go hun. Anything is better than smoking xx

I've given up twice with Zyban, Once for 3 months about 10 yrs ago and recently for 5 months now.

The first time I gave up I had mild hallucinations for a while, The second time I had hot flushes now and again (I'm way past menapause, but I do know what a hot flush is!!) but no hallucinations. Everyone is different so the range of side effects is different too. I also had insomnia but I don't sleep well at the best of times. Currently I'm going great guns and I don't intend to relapse this time. Hang in there - it really does get easier.

Zyban is NOT the same as Champix and therefor the side effects will be different.
