has anyone had gum and tooth pain?
Hi Dinis, welcome to this lovely site
I have been smoke free for 12 weeks now and I still have two area's of my mouth that are sensitive. It could take your mouth a while to settle down, some people suffer with bleeding gums, others mouth ulcers.... for me its sensitive teeth !
If your worried just book an appointment with your dentist
Hi and Welcome,
Ohhh yes i have been quit 4 months now... and my gums still bleed and I have managed to have a few ulcers which i am not really a suffer of, my teeth were sensitive for a few weeks but i started using a really soft toothbrush and sensitive toothpaste, and this really helped. It is a positive sign hun, as its the blood flowing back into your gums as they repair, so dont feel down about it. x
Oh my god it's terrible. I read someone on this site explained it well in their post. They say that it's due to circulation since smoking restricts blood flow to the gums while creating a crust around the gums. When one stops smoking and their circulation Increases this would create issues in the mouth since the mouth is receiving oxygen so to speak along w cleaning itself of the crud that smoking had built in the mouth. There's nothing now sustaining the crud and it's shedding itself. However that does not mean that it's not
Periodontal disease. I saw my dentist and she was not alarmed nor sending me off to the specialist cuz I said my gums were sore and bleeding after not smoking. It's all part of the healing process. A nasty part to be sure. Last time I quit before this time eventually it does ease it. Should u go back to smoking (don't of course) you'll see how the bleeding stops. That's what happened to me and now I quit again and I'm back to bloody swollen gums.
Bleeding gums has been the worst withdrawl symptom but it really makes me never want to smoke again.
