Hi there - we experienced Shingles with PSP. The only thing that seemed to help was pain meds and topical loratadine - - a lot of topical loratadine. I hope the shingles don't last long -they are extremely painful

HI thanks for replying. Mum has had topical antibacterial and flucoxacillin. She also had chloramphenical eye drops as it was in her forehead and eye area. Mum has escaped virtually painless as she has such an abnormally high resistance to pain -part and parcel of the nerve endings dying off and for once a blessing in disguise. She is coming back slowly. scabs are drying and healing very well and she is beginning to tyr and feed herslef and try with her drinks although the Parkinson Plus Syndrome is stopping her from succeeding as well at the moment. She is very strong in character and is determined to fight back.

Thanks for caring!

Mum has recovered fully from the outward physical signs of the Shingles now but is still having twinges. The only way I know she is in pain is that she occasionally touches the area whilst frowning and is also guarded when getting changed. I have to keep reminding the staff as mum never says she is in pain, bless her.
